No Rover, this ain't about you. Don't get choked on your chew bone but I have a new "best friend" to comfort me.
In the quiet moments when all you want is a little peace and tranquility, what better way to spend them than sitting at ones own computer. It is amazing to think sometimes how many things I can do from one spot, with one cup of coffee, in my underwear if I so desire. Tonight I have read all the news that interests me, checked in on the latest sports news, learned a little about thyroid illness, worked a crossword puzzle, all the while checking in on my fantasy sports teams live scoring to see how bad I am getting my ass handed to me.
I have "talked" with some people whom I consider friends but have never met. I get real life answers from some of my on-line friends on things from my Palm T|X, to Access databases to whatever. All I have to do is think of something and I can find someone, or some bulletin board, or some web site to provide the insight I am looking for.
Anytime day or night. Rain or Snow. Good mood or bad. Whether I am up or whether I am down my computer is always there to heed my every command and provide me with whatever information or entertainment I may desire.
Who could ask for a more loyal and devoted friend.
Don't fret Rover, I will still come to you when I want someone to jump on top of me, turn my drink over, or bark at the top of your lungs for no apparent reason. I'll still take advantage of your canine leftover disposal skills. You can still chase the blessed cat till your tongue wags from exhaustion and count on an "atta boy" from me.
But when you see me comfortably perched in front of my laptop, just go lay down and take a nap. There will be no time for you then.
